Record Types Example
Here is the complete requirement of the company.
- While creating opportunity records for selling products, fields like quantity and product specifications should be visible. The stage field should also include the values Product Demo, Quote Sent, Negotiation/Review, and Closed Won/Lost.
- While creating opportunity records for selling service fields like service duration, SLA Signed should be visible. Also the stage picklist field should include values Contract Sent, Implementation Planning, Negotiation/Review, Closed Won/Lost.
To manage this, the admin can use Record types to streamline and tailor the experience for their sales team. Here are some of the screenshots of the UI which the end user will see when the above requirement is implemented.
When a user chose to create a new opportunity record they will be able to choose the type of record they want to create.
If User chooses Product Sales then this is the view. Please take a note of Stage picklist values and fields visible.
